At the Mossy Pond Volunteer Fire Department (MPVFD), we are more than just first responders – we are your neighbors, friends, and family, united by a shared commitment to protect life, property, and the cherished way of life in Mossy Pond and the surrounding areas of Northwest Calhoun County.
As a 100% volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our strength comes directly from the dedication and selflessness of individuals who volunteer their time, expertise, and passion. We stand ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, prepared to answer the call for help, whether it's a structural fire, a brush fire, a vehicle accident on our local roads, or any emergency our community faces.
In a county like ours, where the spirit of community runs deep and the nearest resources can be miles away, our role is absolutely vital. We operate without paid staff, relying entirely on the generosity of our community through donations and grants, and the tireless efforts of our volunteers. Every dollar contributed and every hour volunteered directly enhances our ability to train, equip, and respond effectively.
We are incredibly proud to serve you, and we invite you to learn more about our mission, our history, and how you can become a part of the Mossy Pond VFD family. Your safety is our priority, and your support makes our service possible.
